1.1 Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) outlines the terms applicable to the use of services by a customer of OLYS Telecom Ltd or an OLYS Telecom Ltd reseller. Terms defined in the contract between the customer and OLYS Telecom Ltd, or between the customer and OLYS Telecom Ltd’s reseller, retain the same meanings in this AUP.
1.2 General Obligations
The customer, and their officers, employees, contractors, and subcontractors, shall: (a) Not send any illegal material to other users of the services or to other privately owned and operated services accessed through OLYS Telecom Ltd. (b) Not use the services in any way that:
- Is unlawful, fraudulent, or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect.
- Does not comply with any instructions given by OLYS Telecom Ltd or other telecommunications operators or competent authorities.
- Puts OLYS Telecom Ltd in breach of any agreement with carriers or other telecommunications operators.
- Breaches the intellectual property rights of OLYS Telecom Ltd or any third party.
(c) Refrain from sending any menacing, offensive, abusive, or annoying messages while using the services. (d) Refrain from sending bulk unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, or commercial emails (SPAM) or SPAM over Internet Telephony (SPIT). (e) Not transmit any data or upload material containing viruses, worms, spyware, or other harmful programs designed to affect the operation of any computer software or hardware. (f) Keep passwords and usernames confidential, stored securely, and in accordance with data protection regulations, and notify OLYS Telecom Ltd of any breach. (g) Inform OLYS Telecom Ltd of any changes to the customer’s address or other information affecting service provision or payment. (h) Not announce any or all Internet Addresses allocated as part of an Autonomous System. Customers hosting on shared servers who submit their site to such systems will pay a fee or cover direct costs incurred by OLYS Telecom Ltd. (i) Not use the services unlawfully or in contradiction to any legislation, regulations, or Codes of Practice relevant to the Internet or PSTN. (j) Obtain and maintain any necessary licenses or authorizations for using the services. (k) Remain responsible for security in making and receiving phone calls. (l) Maintain confidentiality and security of authentication details for the services. (m) Ensure all connected equipment is compatible with the services and approved under applicable laws. (n) Ensure the installation or maintenance of equipment (including PBXs and firewalls) is done by a competent person to prevent unauthorized access. (o) Protect all networks from unauthorized third-party access by installing up-to-date firewalls. (p) In the event of a suspected or known security breach, immediately:
- Reset passwords via the Portal.
- Disable affected accounts via the fraud alerts settings page on the Portal.
- Report the incident to OLYS Telecom Ltd via support@olys.co.uk. (q) Not sell, lease, or sublicense the services.
1.3 Customer Responsibility
The customer is solely responsible for all calls made, whether fraudulent or not, including: (a) Calls made from the customer’s PBX without their knowledge. (b) Calls made using the customer’s authentication details. (c) Calls made from an authenticated IP address.
OLYS PBX Services
1.4 The customer is responsible for their use of OLYS PBX services and must ensure it does not: (a) Cause damage or inconvenience to OLYS Telecom Ltd, its suppliers, or any third party. (b) Disrupt the network of OLYS Telecom Ltd, its supplier’s services (e.g., through mass calls or spreading viruses).
1.5 The customer must use OLYS services responsibly and lawfully. If the customer becomes aware of any infringement, they must take immediate rectification measures and inform OLYS Telecom Ltd. OLYS Telecom Ltd reserves the right to charge the customer for any costs incurred due to misuse of OLYS services.
1.6 The customer may not seek unauthorized access to network or computer resources, nor use, destroy, or distort any information within OLYS Telecom Ltd’s or its suppliers’ networks.
